DO REMEMBER
I entreat you to Remember
Recall and Reminisce
Recollect and be Reminded
And today consider hence...
Remember what they did
And what they tried to do
The long nights they have tarried
To pray our souls through
Recollect all the churches
The marriages they have saved
The people they have touched
How they've suffered and prayed
Recall the many sermons
And think about the great songs
The beautiful songs of Zion
We would have never known
Be Reminded of those requests
That crises and those pains
All the troubles we had
And they called out our names
Reminisce about the heartaches
Think on your darkest night
They were ready warriors
To help us win the fight
Troubled marriages were saved
Some dying were again raised
So many kind services rendered
Now let us brighten their days
At least, just recollect it
And go back to give some thanks
Had it not been for them
Would we be counted as saints?
What gifts shall we give?
What words shall we say?
What things shall we render
For they led us to God's way!
The Way of Righteousnesss
Our souls can say 'tis well
Because of the Cooper ministry
Our souls can escape Hell
Let us bear this in mind
In view of what is right
Let us get up and stand up
And for them, let's start to fight
They've fought for us daily
For now over fifty years
It's time for us to rise up now
And wipe away their tears
Temples for God, they've built
During times of poverty
Putting God first and foremost
To set the captives free
Let us bind old Satan
And loose the angels of God
Let us pray for them now
Offering sacrifice of our heart
Let us pray for their health
Their hope, their joy and peace
Let us give back now
Not wait for their decease
Remember what they did
And what they tried to do
So many people rescued
And led to lives brand new
It's time now to remember
It's time now to pray
It's time now to be radical
Not tomorrow, but this day!
They have sown for us much money
They have sown for us much time
They have won for God many souls
The entirety of their lifes' prime
They gave to God their all
For our souls to again be born
They did their very best
But now are they not worn?
They attended church nightly
From January until December
The last of God's great pioneers
I entreat us all to remember
Yes, let us come together
To encourage with loving care
To show them some regard
That for them we will be there
Remember what they did
And let's somehow try to do
Something heavenly for them
The ones who prayed us thru
Just an offer of a praise
A spiritual or love donation
Just a call to say hello
Or a holy conversation
Remember now the good things
The great times we have had
Think again on those things
Let's make their hearts glad
We thank God today for everyone
Those near, those far, those gone
Let's not forget to remember now
Not wait till they've gone on home.
